1. About Beach Brother
Beach Brother is an Ontario-based student mentorship and development program operated by Dean Beardsworth. Privacy questions may be sent to dean@beachbrother.ca.
2. Scope of This Policy
This policy applies to information collected through our website, forms, communications, classes, mentorship sessions, member platforms, payments, surveys, and other interactions with Beach Brother.
3. What Personal Information We Collect
We may collect parent or guardian contact and billing details; student names, grades, schools, goals, interests, participation and progress information; communications; and limited website technical information. We do not request medical diagnoses, government identification numbers, financial passwords, or other unnecessary highly sensitive information.
4. How We Collect Information
Information may be collected directly from parents, guardians, and authorized students; through website forms, onboarding, email, calls, mentorship sessions, community platforms, payment providers, surveys, and website technologies.
5. Parent and Guardian Authorization
Beach Brother serves students aged 13–17 and requires parent or legal guardian authorization before a minor becomes a member or required program accounts are created.
6. Why We Use Personal Information
We use information to respond to inquiries, deliver and personalize the program, communicate, track participation and progress, operate member services, process payments, improve our curriculum, address safety concerns, maintain records, and comply with law.
7. Plans and Mentor Notes
Student plans, progress records, attendance, goals, and limited mentor notes support continuity and personalized guidance. These are not medical, psychological, diagnostic, or counselling records.
8. Member Community and Classes
Shared community content may be visible to approved members. Members should not post sensitive information or record classes or other participants without permission. Live sessions are not recorded without advance notice and required consent.
9. Photographs and Testimonials
Separate, optional consent is obtained before identifiable student photographs, recordings, stories, testimonials, or work are used publicly or for promotion.
10. Communications and Marketing
We send necessary service communications and only send promotional communications where permitted by law. Marketing consent may be withdrawn without affecting essential administrative messages.
11. Sharing and Service Providers
Beach Brother does not sell or rent personal information. Limited information may be shared with providers supporting hosting, email, meetings, community, payments, accounting, analytics, or professional services.
12. Security and Retention
We use reasonable access controls, strong authentication, reputable providers, confidentiality expectations, and deletion practices. Information is retained only as long as reasonably needed for program, safety, tax, legal, and recordkeeping purposes.
13. Access, Correction, and Complaints
Individuals may request access to or correction of their information, subject to lawful limits. Requests and privacy concerns should be sent to dean@beachbrother.ca.
14. Updates
This policy may be updated to reflect changes in law, technology, service providers, or Beach Brother practices. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate.
