HEAD MENTOR

Dean Beardsworth

Hey there, I’m Dean, and I’m really glad you’re here!

I started Beach Brother because every student deserves a head start in the increasingly competitive and complex world of high school. My goal is simple: to give students the guidance, accountability, and encouragement they need to become more confident, disciplined, and prepared for whatever comes next.

I graduated from Malvern Collegiate Institute in 2025, where I received the Reece Fallon Legacy Award, Malvern Graduate Scholarship, Legal Studies Award, Personal Fitness Award, and four-time Honour Roll recognition. I now attend Western University, pursuing Business alongside an Honours Specialization in Law.

Mentorship and leadership have always been a major part of my life. I’m a CASI Level 2 snowboard instructor, karate instructor and First Degree Black Belt, former camp counsellor and lifeguard, music teacher, student mentor, and varsity athlete. I also founded the Malvern Martial Arts Club, captained Malvern’s varsity snowboard team to city championships, earned MVP honours in varsity soccer, and have coached more than 100 students across my different roles.

Growing up in the Beaches and working with students of different ages, personalities, and confidence levels taught me that every student needs something different. Some need accountability, others need confidence, and many simply need someone in their corner who genuinely believes in them.

Beach Brother brings together the lessons I’ve learned through teaching, coaching, and lived experience to provide the personalized support I wish I had in high school. Whether or not you decide to join, thank you for taking the time to learn about us. If you have any questions, I’m always happy to help.

SENIOR MENTOR

Vaughan Cameron

Hey, I’m Vaughan!

I graduated with honours from Malvern Collegiate Institute in 2025, where I received the Malvern Graduates Scholarship Fund Award, Post-Secondary Opportunity Grant, World History Until the 15th Century Award, and Earth and Space Science Award. I’m now studying History at Toronto Metropolitan University, where I have earned Dean’s List recognition and, most recently, the History Student Entrance Award as I work toward my undergraduate degree.

During high school, I was involved in several clubs and teams, including Malvern’s basketball and track and field teams, as well as the investing club. These experiences gave me the opportunity to meet new people, challenge myself, and become a more involved member of my school community.

Outside of academics, I’m a coach and athlete with Blue Devils Athletic Club, where I primarily help young athletes ages 6–14 work toward their goals. I have also volunteered with the TIRF youth rugby camp and taken part in neighbourhood ravine cleanups.

Throughout high school, I faced plenty of tough decisions, confusion, and moments when I felt lost. I looked for guidance, but the available resources often felt scattered and difficult to navigate, leaving me wishing there were one clear place I could turn.

What I love about Beach Brother is that it gives students support from people who were recently in the same position they are in—or are about to enter. It is the kind of guidance and encouragement I wish I had at that stage in my own life, and I’m excited to help students feel more confident as they navigate theirs.
